In collaboration with the GIORGIO ARMANI team, Anjali Janssens realized a portrait series across several cities in Germany and Austria. The project paid tribute to fashion photographer Aldo Fallai, whose distinctive black-and-white imagery and masterful use of light defined the Armani visual identity of the 1990s. Together with the Armani team, Janssens developed a creative concept that invited clients to be portrayed within this photographic tradition. The project was grounded in an in-depth study of GIORGIO ARMANI’s visual language and translated into a carefully conceived set and lighting design inspired by Aldo Fallai’s aesthetic, as well as the production of high-quality photographic prints for each participant.

Over the course of the series, Janssens photographed more than 300 of Armani’s clients across Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, and Vienna.
