Anjali Janssens is a German-Indian visual artist and photographer based between Paris and Berlin. She holds a B.A. in Photography from the Folkwang University of Arts, Essen — one of Europe's foremost institutions for the medium.

Her artistic work centers on Nachleuchten, a long-term photographic series that takes the family album as its departure point — not as a closed document of the past, but as an ongoing narrative that Janssens continues with her own images. Photographs spanning decades of German and Indian family history are brought into relation with one another, opening a space where past and present generate new meaning together. Found archival prints are united with contemporary photographs, making visible — on both a material and conceptual level — the traces of time and the shifts between photographic technologies. What emerges is less a reconstruction of family history than a reflection on the possibility of continued togetherness within the photographic album itself.

Her images are guided by a precise attention to light and an intimacy with her subjects — a sensibility that runs through both her artistic work and her collaborations with fashion and creative clients.

Anjali Janssens is represented independently.
